Alternative Peer Group or "APG" is a recovery support program for adolescents in drug and alcohol recovery and their families. Our research-based model combines community support groups, peer-to-peer relationships, and sober social events. Teens and parents find a supportive community of others experiencing similar challenges.
Each night of the week our peer group director and recovery coaches lead group sessions for teens and families. Friday nights and Saturdays recovery coaches schedule supervised social events for teens. Three times per year teens attend multi-day recovery retreats where they share around a campfire, hike, and do things like whitewater rafting or snowboarding. Learning that sobriety can be fun is key to lifelong change.
Mission Peer Group meets at All Souls' Episcopal Church Youth Center, on NW 63rd and Penn. Students are not required to be enrolled in Mission Academy High School to participate in this program.
